Full Circle Moments

In late March, as Winter tentatively tip-toed into Spring, I found my own new beginning. Before graduating from my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, I held my practicum. Though it seems obvious now, for some reason I did not immediately recognize the circularity of the circumstance. Still, about 48 hours before my teach-out, I had an epiphany. Though I had been attending classes at my yoga studio's current location for quite some time, it suddenly dawned on me that the place where I would teach my initial yoga class was the exact same place where I taught my first ever Zumba class many years before. Known as The Fitness Shack back then, the location and my life both looked and felt very different; with the most significant distinction being that my husband was still alive. Feeling increasingly nervous about how my yoga class would be received, having this eureka moment gave me a sense of comfort and reassurance just when I needed it.
Experiences like these have helped me believe in the power of listening to the universe. Since my husband died over five years ago, this lesson has shown up time and again. The more I have quieted the noise of the outside world through tuning into my inner voice, the more I have noticed these signals. In particular, it feels as though this synchronicity has materialized as I have released my attachment to the idea of knowing how my life would unfold.
Losing my husband so suddenly forced me to reexamine my beliefs about the future. In the past, I had become so accustomed to holding on rigidly to my conceptions about my life that I never felt truly safe. Going through my traumatic loss and reconsidering my place in the world ultimately helped me learn to fully surrender myself to the future even with all its unknowns. As a corollary, I found reassurance about the myriad decisions that lay before me by using this newfound intuition and aligning with the natural flow of life. Though my old anxieties still arise from time to time, I am now more attuned to all the serendipity and circularity, guiding me toward greater peace, harmony, and fulfilment.
